Description

Dedicated tech support services for every challenge
A tech support service, or technical support, helps customers resolve issues with a product or service. Tech support is often provided by a company's technical support department, and can be accessed by phone, online chat, email, or in person.

How does tech support work?

Tech support specialists investigate the root cause of a problem. They resolve the issue as quickly as possible. They may use remote-control software to access the customer's device. They may contact the customer by voice or video call, live chat, or email. They may meet with the customer in person, especially if the problem involves physical equipment.

What does tech support help with?
Tech support can help with hardware devices, software tools, and internet connections. Tech support can help with complex IT issues like hardware repairs, boot loops, and malware mitigation.
Where can you find tech support?
You can contact a company's technical support department. You can find tech support services online. You can find free tech support from experienced users on the internet.

A common scam typically involves a cold caller claiming to be from a technical support department of a company like Microsoft. Such cold calls are often made from call centers based in India to users in English-speaking countries, although increasingly these scams operate within the same country. The scammer will instruct the user to download a remote desktop program and once connected, use social engineering techniques that typically involve Windows components to persuade the victim that they need to pay in order for the computer to be fixed and then proceeds to steal money from the victim's credit card.
